Skaldrim

Terms

Version 1, 5 November 2026

1. The app

Skaldrim makes captions and edits video on your own phone or PC. Speech becomes text with Whisper models that run on the device. The app uploads nothing you record, import or make.

2. Your content

Your videos, sound, pictures and captions are yours. You are responsible for having the right to use what you put in (for example music and other people's faces and voices) and for what you publish. The captions are machine-made: read them before you publish, especially names, numbers and anything that could hurt someone if it were wrong.

3. The speech models

Each model is made by others and comes under its own licence (see the front page and About → Speech models in the app). By downloading a model you accept its licence.

4. Extra rules when you use the Danish model (Røst-v3)

The Danish model is made available by Alvenir ApS and the CoRal project under the CoRal model licence (based on AI Pubs Open RAIL-M, Danish law). When you use it, you agree not to use it, or anything made from it:

  1. in any way that breaks a law or regulation;
  2. to exploit or harm children in any way;
  3. to make or spread false information meant to harm others;
  4. to make or spread personal information that can be used to harm a person;
  5. to defame, belittle or harass others;
  6. to harm people or groups because of their behaviour online or offline, or known or predicted personal characteristics;
  7. to exploit the vulnerabilities of a group because of their age, social, physical or mental characteristics, in a way that harms someone;
  8. to discriminate against people or groups because of legally protected characteristics;
  9. to publish machine-generated content without saying clearly that it is machine-generated (the “Captioned with Skaldrim” end card does this for a video; if you turn it off, say it another way, for example in the post’s text);
  10. to pretend to be a human being in order to deceive;
  11. for fully automated decisions that hurt a person’s legal rights or create or change a binding obligation;
  12. to impersonate a person or organisation, including making synthetic speech that imitates a real person’s voice;
  13. to detect or guess who a speaker is or their traits: name, address, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, age, location, skin colour, social or political affiliations, employment or health.

The full licence: https://huggingface.co/CoRal-project/roest-v1-whisper-1.5b/blob/main/LICENSE. Disputes about that licence between you and the model's maker follow it: Danish law, mediation and then arbitration by the Danish Institute of Arbitration in Aarhus, in English.

5. No warranty

The app is given as it is. We do our best, but can't promise that captions are correct or that the app works on every device. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, lost content or lost income. Keep copies of what matters to you.

6. Paid features

The app is free to install and to caption with. If a paid unlock is offered later, it is sold through Google Play or the App Store under their terms; the price is shown before you buy.

7. Changes and contact

If these terms change, the new version is published here with its date, and the app says so. Questions: support@skaldrim.com. Norwegian law applies, except where section 4 says otherwise for the Danish model's licence, and where your own country's consumer law gives you more rights.
