Privacy
We collect nothing. Skaldrim has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. The app does not send your videos, sound, pictures, captions or projects anywhere.
What happens on your device
- Speech to text runs on your phone or PC with a Whisper model in the app's own folder.
- Projects are saved in the app's own folder. Deleting the app deletes them (Android and iOS).
- Exports are saved where you choose (on Android in Movies and Pictures, in a folder called Zubcap, the app's earlier name). Share hands the file to the app you pick; what it does with it is up to it and you.
What the app fetches from the internet
- Speech models, only when you press Download: from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). Hugging Face sees your device's IP address, as any web server does; Skaldrim sends nothing else. Hugging Face's own privacy policy applies to the download.
- PC server (optional, advanced): if you type the address of your own computer in Settings, the sound goes there over your own network. Nothing goes to us.
Permissions
- Microphone: only to record a voice-over in the editor, when you press record.
- Music and audio (Android): to list the sound files on the phone when you add music.
- You pick videos and pictures in the system's own picker; the app does not ask for the whole gallery.
This website
skaldrim.com has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Cloudflare, which hosts it, keeps ordinary server logs. Mail to support@ and hello@skaldrim.com is forwarded to the maker's own mailbox and kept only as long as needed to answer.
